Abdilaahi Jaamac Cismaan, accompanied by the Director General of the Ministry, Mr. Cabdi Cali Mahdi, and other senior ministry officials, conducted a working visit to Geed-Deeble Nature Reserve, with a particular focus on the Wildlife Conservation Centre and the Botanical Garden.
The visit aimed to assess the progress of various development and conservation projects underway at the reserve, review the implementation of ongoing activities, and evaluate broader efforts to protect and sustainably manage the area's environment and wildlife.
During the inspection, the Minister and his delegation toured project sites across the reserve, where they received detailed briefings from officials and technical staff overseeing the conservation and development initiatives.
As part of the visit, the Minister also met with traditional elders, community leaders, and representatives of the Geed-Deeble community. The discussions focused on the overall condition of the reserve, strategies for strengthening environmental conservation, and the vital role local communities play in protecting natural resources and preserving biodiversity.
Addressing community members, Minister Cabdilaahi Jaamac Cismaan encouraged them to continue strengthening their partnership with the Ministry in safeguarding the environment, forests, and wildlife. He emphasized the ecological significance of Geed-Deeble Nature Reserve, noting its crucial role in conserving biodiversity and supporting Somaliland's long-term environmental sustainability and conservation goals.
