Hargeisa – President of the Republic of Somaliland Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi (Irro) has officially launched the reconstruction project of Radio Market in Hargeisa, months after a devastating fire destroyed parts of the busy commercial area.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, President Irro said his government is committed to rebuilding damaged infrastructure, modernizing markets, and improving services that support citizens and businesses.
The President urged the public to protect national land, maintain security and stability, and support development efforts through responsible participation, including paying taxes that contribute to public services and national growth.
Officials including the Minister of Public Works, Land and Housing Hussein Ahmed Aydid, Minister of Information Barkhad Jama Batuun, and Hargeisa Mayor Engineer Abdirisaq Mohamed Farah (Wiiwaa) highlighted the importance of rebuilding the market and supporting traders affected by the fire.
The reconstruction of Idaacadda Market is expected to restore business opportunities and contribute to the continued development of Hargeisa.
